Repair or replace?
Most damage doesn't need new carpet. A repair deals with the damaged area and no more, which is why it costs a fraction of re-carpeting a room. If a repair genuinely isn't the right call, we'll tell you.
Where we work around Wellington
We have been repairing carpet in homes across Central Wellington, Tawa, Johnsonville, Porirua, Lower Hutt and Eastbourne for more than 30 years.

How our carpet repair process works
-
Tell us about the problem
Call us or fill in the form. If you can, send us a phone photo with a coin or your hand in it for scale. We give you a considered estimate, and if you're happy with it, you book a time for us to come to you.
-
We find a piece of your carpet
The patch has to be your own carpet. If you kept an off-cut when it was laid, we use that. If not, we take a small piece from inside a wardrobe or cupboard and fill that gap with a plain off-cut of ours.
-
We patch the damage
We cut out the damaged area and no more, fit your piece with the pile running the same way, and secure the join underneath.
Weighing it up?
Call us for a chat about the damage, or ask for an estimate and we'll tell you whether it's worth repairing.
Carpet repair home visit questions
Do I need to be home?
For a price, no. A photo is usually enough. For the repair itself we need access to the room and, if the patch is coming from a wardrobe or cupboard, to that too.
Do you overlock rugs or bind mats?
No, that's specialist work we don't do. Ask us and we'll point you to someone who does.

Boyce is brilliant! I highly recommend him for his workmanship and he is polite, clean, tidy and very reasonably priced. We should have contacted him earlier and not put off the repairs we needed.

Boyce is an absolute wizard, I really thought there was no way the damage in the carpet wouldn't lead to having to replace it entirely, but he worked magic with a small off cut and you can't even tell there was an issue in the first place. He's also really friendly and professional, I highly recommend him.

Repairing a carpet costs a fraction of a new carpet.
Re-carpeting a room means uplift, underlay, disposal and a new carpet that may not match the next room. A repair deals with the damaged area and no more.
We'll be honest about the result. Carpet that has been out in the room for years has faded and worn, so a patch rarely matches it perfectly. A good repair is a real improvement, far less noticeable than the damage, rather than a perfect match.
If a repair isn't the right call for your carpet, we'll tell you.
